ATI Tank Hire’s yard supervisor, Barry Quinlan, is celebrating successfully completing his IOSH Managing Safely course. It’s the latest of many qualifications he’s achieved while at the company.
Barry attended the course at Milne Safety in Wymondham in December last year and now has an IOSH Managing Safely certificate to add to his collection. In his role as yard supervisor, Barry has taken on many new responsibilities and this is yet another key skill in his portfolio.
Barry says: “I started working for ATI Tank Hire Ltd back in 2006 and I never saw much room for improving my limited skill set. I was a fresh-faced welder and I saw ATI as a stop-gap more than a career but how wrong was I?
“In the last 12 months, with the support from the team, I have gained my 7-tonne and 16-tonne forklift licences, my mobile elevating work platform licence, a confined space certificate and a working at heights certificate. I am also ATI’s fully trained fire marshall.
“In July 2014, I was promoted to yard supervisor. Now I’ve completed my IOSH Managing Safely certificate, I’m looking forward to the challenges this role will bring – ATI is my future.”
